Do you want to become a better man?
This is the whole purpose of the Craft. If the idea of working, deliberately and with others, at your own character appeals to you, you are already thinking like a Mason. If you are looking only for a social club or a business network, you will likely be disappointed.
Do you value friendship and belonging?
Freemasonry offers a brotherhood that crosses ages, backgrounds and generations. Men who thrive in the Craft are those who genuinely enjoy the company of others and are willing to give friendship as well as receive it.
Are you willing to give your time?
Freemasonry is not demanding, but it is not passive either. It asks for your presence at meetings, a little effort to learn, and a willingness to lend a hand. Members who put a little in find they get a great deal out.
Do you believe in something greater than yourself?
A belief in a Supreme Being is fundamental to the Craft, though the particular faith is entirely your own. If that belief is part of who you are, one of the essential conditions is already met.
